Toilet Time

The cute little boy seen in the picture above....well he decided to stick his hand in the toilet for the first time. A moment I shall never forget. Unfortunately, whenever nature calls, the little man is right behind me. No worries...the water was clean when he stuck his hand in.

9 Months

Pierson is now 9 months and definitely developing a little personality, or should I say attitude? No really he is still pretty sweet most of the time. He gets his feelings hurt whenever we tell him no. But, he does know what the word "no" means now, and will look up at you with the "what did I do look" whenever it is said. I am not sure why we baby proofed the house. Pierson finds it enjoyable to open up the kitchen cabinets (which have locks on them), stick his small little chunky arms in there and pull out glass bowls, cups, etc. Several weeks ago he would try and mimic us as we were clapping and use his entire arm and hands. Now, when we tell him to clap, he can use his hands appropriately. Such a big achievement for a 9 month old :). His balance continues to be really good, and he has taken about 6-7 steps on his own before he falls over.

Last Thursday around lunchtime, Stephanie called us to advise that little Master P had a 102 temperature. I believe that I am still classified as a new mother, and this was the first time he has had a fever. So, I pretended to be calm and called Jeremy (who I believe knows everything about being sick). I guess I just feel that he is supposed to know it all since he is a Firefighter / Paramedic. I wanted to go home so bad, but Jeremy picked him up and went home. You would have never known he didn't feel good. He was the same smiley boy that he always is. That night his temp got up to 103. He didn't have any other symptoms, so we decided to go ahead and page the doctor. He didn't seem to concerned about it, so that made me feel a little better. (Also because we had his 9 month visit the next morning). We let Pierson sleep "white trash" style that night and only wear some shorts to bed. I certainly hope that none of you only sleep in shorts as I may have offended you. Well, better yet, I don't want to know. Here is the picture daddy sent me after he picked Pierson up.

More photos from the past month....

The boy has a new love for boxes.

Yesterday Pierson has his doc appointment. He weighed in at 23 pounds 13 oz (91%), His length was 29 1/4" (87%, and his head was 19" (99%). I just checked my baby book and I was 21 pounds and 30" at nine months. Jeremy keeps saying that he would love for Pierson to be at least 6 feet tall. Jeremy never made it there, and he always jokes about it. While, there his temperature was only 97, but because he had a temp of over 101 in the last few days he was not able to get his shot. Dr. Schwartz checked him out and saw an ulcer in his mouth, so stated that he had a slight case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth. So, I look at him and say "what should I do?" He replies with nothing, simply because there is nothing I can do for it. He said that he could possibly get some sores on his hands and feet, so we will just watch for that. So far...so good. Other than that, our little man checked out great. He still only has two teeth, but he has four on the top that are trying to come in, which could also be why he has had a fever. I am slowly starting to produce less milk (not that any of you care), but he said once I run out I can so straight to whole milk. I had no idea that could be done before a year. Maybe that is why I am not a doctor. I am going to start incorporating it in with the breast milk little by little to get him used to it. I am having to use a frozen package of breast milk everyday, and I was hoping to make it to 12 months. So...we shall see. But, I could certainly find things to do with that time like clean or sit on the couch and stare into space. I think I would rather stare into space for a few minutes and THINK ABOUT NOTHING.

My boy HATES to be in the car seat. It is always such a joyous ride. I give him juice, snacks, or whatever to help with the issue. Maybe I am creating a bad habit, but I am just to weak to listen to him cry while in the car. Maybe that is a bad mommy moment?
Here is what happens when daddy keep him...

A few months ago, Jeremy was at Costco and called and asked if he could buy the below...

See, this car was supposed to be his present for his 1st Bday. Jeremy insisted on putting it together. Some twins that live on our street were having a birthday party, and Jeremy wanted Pierson to show up to the party looking like a "man."

I have recently put Pierson to work in the laundry room. He is a huge help. He pulls all of the clothes out onto the floor for me.

We are headed out today to get Pierson his first "real" pair of sneakers. Wish me luck...mostly for the drive there.
