Christmas of 2013 will definitely go down as one to remember. We did not get to celebrate with ANY of our family. Well...we did get to have Christmas with my parents only because we did it a couple weeks before, thankfully!
The Friday before Christmas, P started looking a little sickly. We were supposed to be heading to Tyler for Christmas with my extended family the next day. We ended up not going...and it was a good thing. Pierson started running a fever, and I decided I was not going to play any games. We headed up to Acute Kids and sure enough the boy had strep. This also meant that we did not get to have Christmas with Jeremy's family the next day : (
Uncle Eric and Aunt Alicia brought all of the kids "goodies" home from Tyler, so Pierson had fun opening those. He really got into opening presents this year. In typical Pierson fashion he began the process with no clothes on.....
Hallie was semi interested.....
But she felt drinking milk was much more fun.....
And you notice P getting dressed in the background... (oh and my floor that doesn't stand a chance of being clean because of two kids). We clean the floor and then an hour later it looks like this.
Hallie was too tired to finish opening all of her presents, so she finished the next morning...eh scratch that....she ate the paper instead.
On Monday, I took sweet Hallie to the doctor, as she wasn't acting like herself. She tested negative for strep and flu.
And....this also meant that we did not get to do Christmas Eve Activities with my dad's side of the family. We did not want to risk getting anyone sick over there. Sadly, my dad was the only one that went as mom had bronchitis.
Christmas Eve we went to downtown Frisco and let Pierson look at the lights. He was pretty interested, but was bored within about 20 minutes. He had much more fun eating his marshmallows. Hallie of course didn't pay much attention, but she was happy as long as I continuously fed her yogurt melts. The girl loves her some food!
Pic of my sweet girl on Christmas Eve. She is into ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!!
I guess the kids were good this year because Santa paid a visit. As Pierson says, "he came through the fireplace and brought me a big boy bike".
Pierson got a "big boy bike" which he loves. He always wants to ride in the house. We always tell him no, and he proceeds to get on it and say "see I'm not falling off". For some reason he thinks that if he is not falling off of it that it is okay to ride. Sweet P also got a backpack with his name on it, a big Planes blanket and lots of goodies in his stocking. Hallie girl got a toy box, backpack with her name on it, and lots of goodies in her stocking as well. There was also a few presents for them to open from us.
Notice the mismatched pajamas. Apparently P did not want to put on his Christmas top.
Hallie getting a glance at what Santa brought her....
Of course the truck with the trailer that was in his stocking was a favorite. He still LOVES LOVES LOVES anything that has a trailer on it.
He decided to help Sissy get everything out of her stocking....
I made a healthy (or not) breakfast for the family and we were just lazy the rest of the day....
We went outside briefly for P to ride his bike, but it was just too cold. Hallie got Pierson's old bike. He had no problem letting to of it, since he got his new one.
Then...the Friday after Christmas, sweet Hallie started running a fever. We went to see Dr. Schwartz again, and she tested negative for RSV and strep and positive for Type A Flu. She started taking Tamiflu immediately and was good to go. They decided to put P on preventative Tamifulu. But...did it work???
Then....New Years Eve day, I felt like someone ran over me. (Actually, I'm not really sure what that feels like, but it must be similar). Sure enough...now momma has Flu. Its the gift that keeps on giving :( I started taking Tamiflu and felt so much better the next day. Thank the good Lord!!
Oh...and then Pierson got the flu a couple weeks ago. Fun stuff!!!
So...that pretty much sums up our Christmas this year. Sorry the post was so long, but I had to get it all in. Although it was nice to be with my little family over Christmas, I am most certain that my wonderful husband was tired of looking at me...for real.
