Happy 1st Birthday!

We celebrated P's birthday the day before.  We had a construction theme party, and I think it turned out pretty cute.  Wowzers, we had a lot of people at the house (I'm guessing at least 50-60 people) that day but it was certainly a good time.  Below is a pic of the invite, but I somehow managed to screw it up when I scanned it in.  But...you get the point.  I must give credit for the invite to Cara...otherwise I will hear about it..hehe.

I begged and pleaded with people to not bring toys...some listened and some didn't.  Haha.  P got a new wagon (which he LOVES)., money (going directly to that college fund), a lottery ticket, his first couple shares of McDonald's stock (hmm..wonder if one of his grandparents might be a banker?), outdoor toys, a swimsuit, books, bubble machines, water table, remote control car (I think daddy likes that more), two lawn mowers, tools, a guitar, and tons more.

Let me start off by saying I am NOT a crafty person at all, but I certainly tied, and may have copied some things I saw on the internet (Pinterest).

I do give myself credit for this genius idea.  Gummy worms in shovels, etc.

Anyone hungry for a chocolate tire?

Can't have a party without a little Chick fil-A chicken nuggets right?...I mean gravel!

mmmm...dirt pudding!
I will apologize in advance as I have a crazy amount of photos, and them my parents took even more. Before the party really started, P took some time to try out the new toy his daddy bought him while I was at work.  Funny, how Jeremy always tends to spend money on Fridays when he is at home...interesting.  However, P did love it.  He and cousin Adisyn tried it out before the party and both seemed to enjoy it.

Gotta love Adisyn's look  :)

That would be Shana pretending to help...she was really eating chicken nuggets.
Get me out of here!
That would be the one and only Big Dave and cousin Melody

The rest of the pics are from Big Dave's camera, so I apologize that they are so big, but lets just face it...it is taking too much darn time for me to figure out how to make them smaller.  Again...sorry for the pic overload!

Megan, Dot Dot and Cara

Pierson and Big Dave.  Side note...that is not a booger coming out of P..not sure what it is.

P looks so happy with Big Dave.  Not sure what Hayden is doing...lol.

Marley, Melody and Delaney

Haley, P, Hayden and Jordan

Haley (Shana Junior) and Jordan (Ronnie Junior)

Eric (Curvie) and Melody
When we started to sing Happy Birthday to him, he just smiled and started clapping.  It was adorable.  I think he loved all of the attention.

Could he be any cuter??

Mark and Michelle, oh and a great pic of Melody in the background

Cousin Adisyn, Aunt Alicia and Uncle Weirdo

Best family pic we could get.

Sadly, I don't have any pics of JoJo and Papaw with P.  I am hoping they may have some on their camera.  We are so appreciative of everyone that came out to celebrate our wild man's bday, and P is also thankful for all the fun new toys he received!

Lastly, on P's actual birthday, we just took it easy and hung out at home.  Oh, and is there anything wrong with letting your child run around in his birthday suit?

12 Months

Pierson turned one on June 3rd.  We had his party the day before, but I will post about that separately.  I can not believe my little man is already one.  We went to the doctor for his one year checkup and he weighed 27 pounds (93%), he was 31 1/2 " long (91%) and his head was 19 1/2 inches (99%).  I had actually taken him to the doctor about a month ago for his diaper rash that wouldn't go away and he weighed 27.6 pounds (maybe he had clothes on).  Dr. Schwartz said he looked great, and he also said "I see broken bones in your future."  Lol.  Probably because Pierson was trying to climb on everything at the office, which is usually how things go around the house.  Pierson can now climb up on the couch, any chairs, window seals, etc.  Good times around here.  He absolutely loves to walk all over the couch.  I did have a basket behind the couch which held blankets, but when Pierson began using it as a way to jump over the couch, I moved it.  Pierson is extremely vocal these days.  He still says Mama, Dada, and his new favorite word is Dog.  When we get home everyday, the first thing out of his mouth is "dog," and he immediately starts running for the dog's cage.  But don't be fooled....cows, pigs, lamps, horses (you name it) its a dog.

I was just telling Jeremy that within the past week, he has changed so much, and it is hard to believe that a short year ago, he was still a newborn.  I won't lie, there are some days, where I would like to sit on the couch and do nothing, but we love this little man to pieces.  I don't know if it is because he is a boy, but he NEVER STOPS.  He is on the go all day long and never sits still.  The other day, I caught him sitting on the couch, and he was still for about two minutes...that my friends is a miracle.

P is also going through a stage where he loves to hug people.  Jeremy was with him at Target one day recently while I was working, and he ran up to a little girl in the store and started hugging her.  Jeremy said it was soo cute.  Thankfully the mother and daughter played along with it.

A few weeks back we celebrated the 2nd birthday of his friend Emily.  Pierson was the only boy there, so he loved it.
This pic is soo funny for some reason.  I think she is trying to escape from P!

P and the birthday girl, Emily!

One night I was going through P's closet and came across a 12 month outfit that I had bought before he was born.  Sadly, it doesn't fit, but Jeremy and I decided to play dress up.  We could not even get the buttons to go together...:)
How cute is he??
LOL
Always on the go!

I'm sure you all recall me talking about the car seat.  Yeah...he still doesn't love it, but I think we are making progress.
One day, he went from mad to asleep in about 5 seconds!

P absolutely loves to hug Tank.  Freedom won't have anything to do with him, but Tank pretty much lets P hug all over him, pull on him, stand on him, etc.

Pierson is also obsessed with standing on toys, getting in boxes, bins, or whatever he can fit his body into.  He has learned that he can push a toy up against the couch or window seal and that gives him easier access to it.  Little stinker!

Here is one last cute pic of my little man.  He looks like a little boy in this picture...not a baby anymore :)

I know I've said it a hundred times, but we are so blessed to have this little boy as our son.  We love him to pieces, and I'm not sure that I remember life before him.  He keeps us VERY busy, but we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.  We love you Pierson Brock!!.

2 Years of Wedded Bliss

Jeremy and I were married a whopping two years on May 15, 2012.  My hubby proudly came home from work and gave me a giant card (like 12 X 12) as seen below.

Um...this would be a Star Wars Bday Card that makes noise.  Thanks honey!  He seriously thinks it is soo funny, but I guess this is what makes him so special :)  On the front of the card he wrote "To the best wife ever."  lol.  The Saturday after our anniversary P-diddy stayed with my parents and Jeremy and I headed to the Gaylord (no pictures) and relaxed all day.  We went to their new outdoor pool facility called Paradise Springs, or something like that.  It was fun.  We laid by the pool, and most likely I scared everyone because I am so pasty white it is sad...really.  I recommend anyone that has preschool or older kids to take the fam there.  There is a lazy river, slides, etc.  Afterwards we took about a two hour nap, which I am going to assume is just like Heaven.  It was marvelous.  That night we headed over to the Grapevine Arts Festival and Cara and her crew met us over there.  We had a good time.

Mother's Day 2012

My first official Mother's Day was great.  We headed to church on Sunday morning, and our class was really good.  One of the topics of discussion, was, How do you show that Christ is #1 in your life?  Sadly, I don't believe that Jeremy and I do a good job of showing that, and most importantly showing Pierson.  We both agreed that we need to do a better job.  If Pierson has already picked up how to hold a remote up to the tv, and put a phone up to his ear, I think it is time we begin talking more about Jesus and reading more biblical books.  It amazes me how fast children soak everything in.
We went and picked P up from his class, and he had a new bruise on the side of his nose...shocker.  The boy is into EVERYTHING.  While in class, my brilliant child made his momma a gift...sweet boy.  The hubs got me a sweet card (they usually are very random cards..haha) and some flowers.

After church we headed to Uncle Shane's restaurant to enjoy some Mexican food with the family.  A good time was had by all.  I didn't get any pics, but P seems to think he can just do whatever he wants while there.  He walks around and "shows off" to everyone.  Unfortunately, I got no pics of me and my cute little man.  It is soo difficult to get him to still for any longer than 3.2 seconds.  We spent a lot of the day outside in the backyard playing.

The entire family was supposed to head down to the Hyatt Hill Country outside of San Antonio for the weekend.  However, we checked the weather the week we were going, and it was nothing but rain...so we will have to reschedule that soon.  I am blessed that God chose to me to be Pierson's momma.  He is such a sweet natured boy (although I think that may be changing..haha).

Most importantly, I have the best mother anyone could ask for.  She does so much for us and for little P.  Everyone knows that Dot Dot is the ultimate mother.  I also have the best mother-in-law EVER.  Jo has to be one of the sweetest people on the planet...seriously.  She raised her son to be a sweet sweet man, who is the best husband anyone could ask for.

Happy Late B-Day to ME!

My bday was in February and Jeremy got me one of those "rich people closets."  So, at the beginning of May, Closets by Design came out to install the closet and we love it.  We have a decent size closet, but not huge, so this really helped out a lot.  I do believe that this will be my present for the next however many occasions he can think of.  We are still working on organizing everything.  I took some before and after shots.

Sadly, I had already removed a lot of "junk" from the top!
That shelf over to the left was full of my shoes.

I even got a drawer for all my expensive jewelry..hehe.

Cinco de Mayo

Pierson learned how to "party" this year on Cinco de Mayo.  We visited his Uncle Shane's restaurant, Papa Lopez with Jeremy's parents.  He was quite the character while we were there, soaking up all of the attention he could get.  Going out to eat with the little dude is not at the top of my favorite things list, but we manage.  The drink in the below pic, apparently named a Mexican Bulldog was delicious.  Papa Lopez calls it something else, but I can't remember.  Anyhow, I only had one and it was...can we say strong?  Good thing Jeremy drove home..hehe.

P surprisingly enjoyed the lemon..kept wanting more.

I snapped the below pic on the way out.  This might be one of my favorite all time pics.

Jo Jo and Papaw kidnapped Pierson that night, so Jeremy and I went to a Cinco de Mayo party at a neighbor's house, and had a great time.  We skipped church on Sunday,  and went to breakfast at Ihop, and we were able to eat slowly and enjoy our food (ah the joys of kiddos).  We then headed up to Sanger for some of Papaws famous ribs.  We had a fund weekend!
