San Diego (Day 3)

We headed out for the San Diego Zoo on day 3 and it was a lot of fun.  I guess I didn't realize there were SO MANY hills at the zoo.  We definitely got our steps in on this day!

Pierson was thrilled to see a "real Navy pilot" at the hotel while we were waiting on our cab.  This pic was taken right before Hallie fell right on her face while running.  Unfortunately that did not make for a fun morning.

This kid absolutely LOVED all of the reptiles.  He could have spent hours looking all of them.  He would scream each time he spotted one.

Thank goodness Jeremy had the idea to rent this stroller.  It was a life saver while doing all of that walking.

Hallie could go all day and never stop.  Pierson on the other hand....was beyond exhausted.  He fell asleep in the stroller around 3ish so we decided to call it a day.

We went back to the hotel and swam the rest of the afternoon / evening and ate by the pool!

San Diego Day 2

The next morning Jeremy and Pierson headed to breakfast.  I heard it was fabulous, but the princess was still sleeping (hard) so I stayed in the room with her.

We headed out for some more fun and the boys went one way and the girls went the other.  Luckily, Hallie enjoys the roller coasters.  The two of us rode those and had a blast!  Since we stayed at the hotel on site, we got early access to some of the rides = no wait at all!!  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of us on the roller coasters, but the child has no fear!

Ha.  I don't even remember why she was mad, but it was funny!

LEGOLAND was so much fun and literally every person that worked there was very nice and always so helpful!

About mid day we packed up and headed back into San Diego and met my parents at the hotel.  We decided to hang by the hotel pool and then head out for dinner.

There was a little bit of a mix up with our room, so about 30 minutes later they had it ready.  We went out to dinner and came back to these goodies for the kiddos.  We also got a credit (which Jeremy enjoyed via drinks at the pool).

We had dinner by the Bay and it was so fun to see all the huge boats and yachts.

My three favs..

The kids rode this Carousel and it went so fast!  It actually made me a little nervous.  It was originally from Fair Park which was neat.

View of our hotel on the way back from dinner.

San Diego (Day 1)

We surprised the kids with a "baycation" as Hallie calls it and took them to San Diego.  They didn't find out they were going until we woke them up at 330 in the morning.  Ha.  I have TSA Pre-check so I took the kiddos through the security line with me.  Jeremy got stuck with Hallie's bag that I had put Play-Doh in. Apparently, Play-Doh sends off all kinds of signals as being potentially bad.  Needless to say...Jeremy got the full search.

Meanwhile...the kids and  I just giggled.  But Jeremy got the last laugh when I realized I left my phone in the car so I had to go back through security.

Major picture overload....

Hallie and I were busy coloring on the way to San Diego.  She made a picture for the "drivers" of the plane.  Luckily, this isn't the one she gave them...but we found it very funny that she wrote "Bad".  LOL.

We arrived in San Diego about the same time we left Dallas (thank you time change), and spent the entire first day at LEGOLAND in Carlsbad.  As soon as we arrived, we got a rental car and drove about 40 minutes.  The kids loved it (and so did we).  It really was a fun place to go.  My parents met us at LEGOLAND and surprised the kids as well.

The kids were so tired.  This was about 10 minutes into the car ride.

We arrived just in time for the park to open.  I had actually not planned on going to LEGOLAND until the following day but it worked out that we got to Carlsbad much earlier than originally planned!

View from our hotel room...

Pierson's first choice was the new Ninjago ride.  It was so fun!

We were on vacation...so why not spend too much money on getting the kids faces painted?!?!

Hallie was shy when it was her turn to meet some of the Lego characters...

Pierson was soooo excited the entire time we were there!

One of the neatest things we saw was this mini city.  It was so much fun to look at.  Washington DC, New York, China Town, San Fran, etc.

It was such a fun first day, but the kids (and us) were so tired by the end of the day.  We were still on Texas time, so we called it an early night.  The weather was amazing the first day we were there and I think we got pretty lucky as far as the crowds go.  It really wasn't too bad.  We never really had to wait more than 20 minutes for a ride.
