Hallie Turns 4

Little Miss Hallie turned 4 on January 23rd.  This sweet child of mine is so strong willed.  I have faith that this will serve her well one day!

She has apparently watched way too much Peppa Pig, because the word "bit" is in her vocabulary very frequently now.  "I am a bit cold", "My Barbie car is a bit heavy".  Her favorite phrase as the moment is "that's disgusting" and "that's boring".  I am told usually everyday that my car is boring, or her clothes are boring, etc.  You get the point!

She refuses to wear matching pajamas to bed.  Like...why is this a thing?  She still sleeps with so much stuff that she barely fits into her full size bed.  It is not a battle I want to fight.  So...she sleeps with anything and everything she can fit into that bed!

Hallie is the queen of putting those hands on her hips and letting people know her thoughts.  I was recently reminded that her daddy used to do the same thing!

She is extremely independent and would much rather do everything on her own.  She continues to pick at her brother and he continues to be super sweet to her.  HA.  They usually do play pretty good together, but of course they have their moments.  She still loves Peppa Pig and Doc McStuffins, and we have watched the Trolls movie at least 25 times since it has come out on DVD.  She is really into Barbies recently, and listening to her pretend play is pretty comical.  Her imagination is wild!

She continues to be a little soccer star!

We had her 4 year check up with Dr. Schwartz.  (Dr. Shorts if you are my kids)  You forget all the shots at 4 years old.  That was fun!  She was 40 pounds (85%), and 40 inches tall (57%).  She actually failed her hearing test in her left ear.  She had an ear infection back in December and her tube fell out.  So...back we went to the ENT and she ended up having to have a second set of tubes and her adenoids taken out.  Hopefully fluid behind her eardrum is the reason for the hearing loss.  However, this kiddo doesn't miss a thing that someone says!

We had her birthday party at Urban Air and honestly we don't ever invite a ton of friends because we are blessed with so many cousins. (and parties get expensive!)

Daddy got a late bday present from Dot Dot and Big Dave....

A few days before her birthday, Hallie got to go spend some time with Dot Dot and Big Dave.  She was spoiled...as usual.  Pierson might have been a little upset with my parents that he didn't get to go. (he was in school).  However, mommy and Pierson enjoyed time together as well, since Daddy was at school.

Her birthday gift was a new doll from American Girl and she named her "Tinkerbell".

Unfortunately, we also spent Hallie's actual birthday paying tribute to Detective Jerry Walker of the Little Elm Police Department.  I think Pierson sort of got it?!?  I did not share specific details with him, but he knows that Detective Walker is in heaven now and that a "bad" person killed him.  Such a tragedy and was too close to home!  It was truly amazing to see the community support and the amount of police offers involved in the procession.

Sweet Hallie girl, we love you so much, and can't imagine life without you!  It is hard to believe that 4 years went by so fast.  She will start Kinder next year!  Crazy.
