4th of July

Jeremy's parents had their annual 4th of July celebration.  There was probably about 40 people there, and about $500 worth of fireworks.  Jeremy and his brother tend to go a little nuts on this day.  They are a bit like a kid in a candy store....they just can't get enough of it.  We had to cut the show a little short this year due to the incoming storms, but everyone had a blast.

Hallie was covered in sand...

Hallie kept saying she was scared of the loud noises, so Pierson was protecting her.  He told her to think about rainbows and butterflies.  haha.

Pierson and cousin Lili..

Big Dave and Dot Dot came for the party....

We got home around 1030, and this one fell asleep about 5 minutes before we got home.  However, I did wake her up for a bath.  I couldn't stand to put her to bed so dirty.

My request (bribery) for a picture before church didn't go so well...

We did a few sparklers with our neighbors on the night of the 4th.  This is the first year not to be able to shoot fireworks off in our neighborhood.  However...a lot of people still did them.  Luckily we can look out of Pierson's window upstairs and see so many fireworks from all over the city.  Fun!

It was such a fun, and HOT 4th of July weekend with the family.  This is the first year that Pierson really cared much about fireworks and had so much fun.  Hallie wasn't real sure about all of it and said she didn't like the loud noises!

Camp Thurman 2016

My parents treated Pierson to Camp Thurman for the first time this year and to say he had a blast is an understatement.  He had SO much fun.  I went as a kid and sadly I don't remember much.  Before camp started he asked me if they were going to roast marshmallows and have s'mores.  Nope...not that kind of camp son!

Jake, Pierson and Drew.  Oops....guess the sun was in their eyes.

His  counselor was Kenai (on the left) and he was fantastic!

Not sure what my child was doing in this pic....

This is the bracelet he made and he says it "represents God & America."  He has not taken it off yet.

It appears he talked my mom...or Louise (and Robin) into letting him swim at their house one day.  Oh...and he may have broke a pair of their goggles (more on that below).

Last day...

This was about 5 minutes before he fell asleep on the way home the last day.  He was absolutely exhausted!

Pierosn managed to lose his goggles two days in a row (two different pairs), and we were able to recover them.  Then...he lost another pair the last day.  I decided I wouldn't go search for those.  Thanks to Robin for finding one pair.  Oh...and he lost his towel...but we found that too!

Hopefully this is the start of a new summer tradition.  It was so much fun to talk to him each day and hear about everything he did and all that he learned.  I think his little sister might join him next year at camp.  No doubt...everyone will know Hallie Roberts by the time the week is over.

A big thank you to my parents for treating him to this camp and having a week of Pierson time!!

Family Reunion 2016

The second weekend in June we headed down to the hill country for our family reunion.  Admittedly, I don't love it down there, but it is always a good time.  Dot Dot and Eric could live down there, but me....not so much!

Pierson and Adisyn headed down a couple days early with my parents and of course had a great time.

My parents car was loaded.  Pretty sure the kids barely fit....

My parents took the kids to Blanco State Park and they had so much fun! Pierson has become a pretty good swimmer....but if he knows he can't touch the bottom he gets a bit nervous.

Pierson and Cousin Lisa.  She always brings a little gift for the kids each year, and they now expect it.  HA.

 Searching for Rolly Pollies....

The princess had to get her morning video time in before we left for the day....

This little dude did NOT want to head home....

Our little fam headed home on Sunday morning and skipped out on the lunch.  Shockingly, the kids did not sleep on the way home,  However, Hallie is such a good little traveler.  We kept Pierson occupied with several different movies on the Ipad and he was good to go!
