Christmas Eve 2012

Jeremy and I typically rotate every year for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family or his.  This year was the year to spend with Jeremy's!  His grandparents always have a big bash at their house for Christmas Eve.  Pierson was up wayyyyyy past his bed time, but actually did pretty good.  Although, when everyone was in the living room, he was in one of the bedrooms playing with any toy he could find.  He found a huge truck that houses matchbox cars, and the boy was in heaven.  I wasn't in the room when he found the truck, but Jeremy said that P went "wow" when he found it.  So...you could say he was a bit anti-social that night.  Sadly, some of his little cousins (girls) were locking themselves in the closet to "hide" from the boys, and P was so sad because he wanted in to play as well.

On another note, my doctor wouldn't let me travel for Christmas with my mom's side of the family, so my brother and Alicia brought back his gifts from all his cousins.  So...before we left for Christmas Eve, Pierson was thoroughly enjoying the cars that he got.  I have never seen him get so excited over a toy as he has over all of the cars.  The pic below is not even 1/2 of the cars he got, but he had to make sure and take them EVERYWHERE that he went.

Making them crash?
Proudly lined them up
P watched daddy as he was getting ready.  Everyone dresses up for Christmas Eve at his grandparent's house.  One day while I was working, Jeremy actually got him an outfit that was super cute, and even got dress socks and shoes for the boy!   (Jeremy just saw the below pic and wants to make sure everyone knows that his shirt wasn't all the way tucked in....hes really not a "fatty". )

The above pic is cute and scary all at the same time.  First off...it is a side view of me...and that is scary for sure.  I am obviously preggo and this is not a good picture of me...but whatever.  His grandparents have this big Santa and of course he flipped out when he first saw it, but was then interested in giving him kisses.  The Santa also makes noises, but we decided to keep that off when he was close.

Opening up an "airmay"
fighting over a toy with Tori
Giving a kiss because I told him too..hehe.

Just as soon as we got in the car to leave around 10:30...P was fast asleep when we were only about a mile from their house.  I didn't get nearly enough pictures of everyone, but there was probably 20-25 people there.  We had a great time, but sadly momma was up way past her bed time as well...by about 2 hours.  Ha

18 Months

My sweet little (big) man turned 18 months on December 3.  Hard to believe.  We paid Dr. Schwartz a visit and his measurements were as follows:
Height:   35 1/4" (99%)
Weight:  31.6 pounds (96%)
Head:     99%
Dr. Schwartz let us know that our child is "freakishly tall"...awesome.  If I remember correctly, he is basically the size of a three year old.  Not sure where he is getting his height from??  Jeremy is beginning to wonder..haha.  Doc says that if he continues to grow at this speed he could be 6'3" or 6'4".  I will take that.  Jeremy would give anything for his son to be atleast six feet tall...since J falls just shy of that :).  He is still in a size 7 shoe, but I think we could probably move up atleast half a size.

He has not slowed down one bit.  My mom made a comment to Jeremy and I that "Pierson has really calmed down".  Uh...really??  Not so much.  His vocabulary is really starting to grow.  I can't remember what I posted in the past, but he now says "outside" ALL THE TIME.  The boy loves to be outside.  He refers to baths as "bubbles".  He will lay down in the bath tub on his stomach and say night night.  Um..no kiddo we don't go night night in the bath tub.  He loves to look at pictures (whether on the wall or in a book, etc).  However, a lot of time I will point at a picture and he will say "mama" when it really isn't.  Not sure why he does that..but it is cute for the time being.  He does not like it when we are in the kitchen and he can't see what is going on.  He stands underneath us until we pick him up.  When the microwave is going (unfortunately, that is pretty often), or when something is on the stove, etc, he will say "hot".  For awhile when he would talk he would have an "aagghh" on the end of every word.  That seems to be fading, but I was starting to think that someone was teaching my child French or Russian, or whatever language it is that has that on the end.  He also thoroughly enjoys the word "no".  So, mama and daddy are turning that around to "no ma'am" and 'no sir".

We thought it would be a good idea to teach P how to drive starting now!

cutest little booty in town

He is at a stage where he absolutely LOVES his daddy.  He can't get enough of him.  He will stand in his bed in the mornings and yell "daddeeeee" as loud as he can, multiple times until one of us comes and gets him out.  We have been playing a little game where I will yell out "mama" very loudly, and he will then say "daddeeeee" very loudly.  Kind of cute...he even throws a "mama" in there every once in awhile :).  Pierson loves to color on anything he can.  He has an obsession with highlighters...weird, but whatever.  He felt the need to color on the tile floor one day, but he also cleaned it up for me as well after I informed him that coloring on the floor is not okay.  We have a small mud room / hall in the house, and sometimes my lazy self will throw my shoes in the bins that I wore that day instead of walking the extra few feet to my closet.  It never fails...Pierson will drag our shoes all over the house and wear them.

He will make the sound of a lion, lamb and cow, points out the letters A and B, and is also getting very good at going to time-out.  Although I always feel so bad when he sits there.  It just breaks his heart, but he has to learn somehow right?  He actually does a pretty good job of doing what we ask him to do.  It shocks me...but who knows how long it will last.  Ha!  P says a lot of other words, but of course I can't think of them now.  I'm sure I will after I hit the "publish" button.

With Christmas just around the corner, there are obviously Santas eveywhere.  In our household they are now referred to as "Sassa's".  He loves Sassa, but only on the tv, in pictures, etc.  We went to the fire department Christmas party earlier this month and Santa made an apperance, and the boy freaked out and was scared.  So, I made the decision to not torture my child and take him to get a pic with Santa this year.

The time has come that J and I can no longer go to the bathroom alone.  Who said you had to be alone to pee or poop?  The child will literally try to sit on your lap while your doing what ya got to do, or he will try and pull you off.  Maybe too much information, but its the truth.  Maybe in another 14 years we will be able to go the bathroom alone.

At church a couple weeks ago he received his first "ouch report".  It appears the little man fell on the playground and scraped up his elbow pretty good.  Jeremy made the wrong choice (he admits it) of putting one of those tough strip band aids on his elbow and two days later when we tried to remove it you would have thought the world was coming to an end.  He did not like it one bit, and as a matter of fact would have nothing to do with daddy for a little while.  He keeps pointing to his elbow now saying "elbowww, elbowww".

Pierson continues to love milk.  You would think that he won the lottery whenever we say milk, or pull the ever so expensive half gallon of lactose free milk out of the fridge.  He starts jumping up and down and is soooo excited about it.  He says "mo milk" when done, and we usually give in and give him a little more.  However, when that "little bit" is gone he gets mad and throws his cup on the floor.  This boy can really throw some fits, but is usually over them just as fast as they start.  We kindly tell him that he has to pick his cup up and come tell us he is sorry...which means that we get a hug from him!!

Oh and before I forget...if I have not taught my child anything at all...at least I have taught him where his hiney (booty) is and how to shake it!  Might be my proudest mother moment yet.  Oh and I almost forgot (again), Pierson's absolute favorite thing as this time is "airmays" a/k/a airplanes if you weren't sure.  He can spot one a mile away that I literally have to search for.  We have to tell all of them "night night" before he goes to bed, and we wave at EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE OF THEM!!!!  We sure do love our little boy and can't wait to see what the next 18 months are like with him.  Poor P has no idea that a baby is coming in less than 5 weeks.  Makes me kind of sad that his world is going to be turned upside down.

Grandma JoJo's 60th Birthday

Jeremy's mom turned 60 on December 12.  We had a little get together at our house this past weekend.  Shane brought the margarita machine from his restaurant along with fajitas.  I kept thinking that the margarita machine would blow a fuse (or whatever they are called) in the house...but it never happened :)

There has always been a running joke in the family because Jo NEVER has her mouth shut in any pictures...so funny.  For real...its true.  I have seen very few if any pictures where she isn't talking..lol. By the way...she isn't giving me the "hand" in this picture.  She was in deep conversation with Daniela.

Pierson sat with his JoJo while she blew out her candles and we sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  He thought it was fun to clap at the end!

Jo got lots of fun things for her birthday.  One of her sweet children (my husband) got her some flowers, and I have to say he did a great job of picking them out.  He made sure to add purple (although it looks blue in the pic), as that is her very favorite color.

Pierson would much rather play, run after or do whatever he can to be around the "bigger" kids.  The below pic actually makes me kind of sad.  Devon and Celina were in the office and P wanted in sooo bad.  They kept putting a blanket up against the door so he couldn't see in :(

Notice the mustache isn't gone yet??  HELP!!

Not so sure P was happy his cousin Lili was climbing on his bear.
We had a great time, and we are so fortunate that all of Jeremy's family live fairly close by.  We had originally planed to meet at a restaurant that day to celebrate, but Jeremy and I decided to have every one over at the house.  Lets face it...who wants to chase an 18 month old around while trying to eat??...um not me!!

Thanksgiving 2012

Um...I'm a little behind.  I have been having major issues trying to upload pics etc, and blogger keeps telling me I am at my max for pictures.  For some odd reason it is allowing me upload pics today...strange.  Anywho..
We spent Thanksgiving this year at JoJo's and Papaws up in Sanger.  There is PLENTY of room for kiddos to run and get into trouble at their house.  Pierson will absolutely love it when he gets a little older.  Jeremy's parents live out in the country in a log cabin house and this was my view for a little while, so the little dude could run around and burn off some energy.
The weather was so strange on Thanksgiving Day this year.  During the morning it was chilly and even rained a bit, and then it got a little warmer.  Pierson loved playing on the tire swing that Papa put together many years ago.
He also had lots of fun looking at the horses across the street with daddy.
I actually didn't get too many pictures of any family :( , but we had a great time hanging out in the country for the day.  JoJo has tons and tons and tons and tons (did I mention tons) of toys for kiddos to play with.  She has an in-home day care at her house...although I think that might be changing in the next few months.

Little big for this!!
Cute pic of my boys (minus that mustache--ugh!!)

My parents also hosted Thanksgiving at their house this year for mom's side of the family, but we didn't make it.  It is hard to go between two houses, so we try to switch off every year.  Eric, Alicia and Adisyn didn't go because Adisyn had been sick and most of my cousins were at their other half's side of the family so it worked out well.  Plus this was the first year in a long time that Jeremy's parents were able to have all their kiddos there with the exception of Jessica.  I know Jo was so happy to have all her "boys" there though.  On a side note...the above pic is Jeremy's grandmother...isn't she so pretty.  She is seriously one of the prettiest grandma's out there (besides my sweet Meme).  Next year, we will have another kiddo with us, which will give us all the more reason to be thankful!!

BIg Dave's (insert age) birthday!!

A couple weeks ago was Big Dave's bday, so Pierson and I headed down to Mansfield on Friday and spent the night, and then Jeremy rode up with Eric and Alicia on Saturday and surprised us.  We didn't know he was coming because he has been studying non-stop for months now. (that requires a post of its own).  Friday he took an extremely long nap of about 30 minutes...sigh, and then we went to Target and Dot Dot got him some new pants for winter and we played on the toy aisle forever.  Friday night was not a good night and P just didn't sleep worth a poo.  I finally got him out of the crib and put him in bed with me.  I may eat these words, but I have no idea how people let their kids sleep in the bed with them.  He had his legs and feet in my face, climbing everywhere, almost falling off the bed, etc.  It was a GREAT night!  Sadly, I am learning that P does not require much sleep.  WHY couldn't he have taken after his momma???

He knows right where the toys are at Dot Dot's house and he tried this hardest to go through every last one of them.

Saturday afternoon, Adisyn was insistent upon making "leaf ice cream" in the backyard.  She is so into pretending these days and it is entertaining to watch!

This pic makes me laugh...He is just glaring at Adisyn!

J attempting to get P to \take a picture
didn't work out so well!
