Kindergarten!

Meet the teacher night...

Little sister and little brother...

Checking out his desk and school supplies.  He was not thrilled that his package had pink scissors in it.  I reminded him that all of the scissors went to one bin for people to share!

 The night before Kinder....

First day!  Pierson and his best buddy Devin.
We agreed that it was probably a good thing that he and Devin are not in the same class.  The teacher would definitely have her hands full!

Pierson and Mrs. Shelby...

My sweet boy!

He says his favorite things about school are recess, lunch and Alphabest!  He comes home everyday telling me he is learning about scientist, and goes into great detail about it!  He loves Mrs. Shelby and she seems to be a good fit so far for our boy.  We have been working on reading the Bob books and going over his sight words every night.  It is so much fun to watch him learn.  I love it!  I will ask him everyday who is in his class and he says "I don't know".  I am learning to ask very specific questions about his day and I seem to get better answers!!  Pierson has enjoyed getting to go to the "libary".  He goes each Wednesday and brings home a new book!

I have gone to lunch with him a few Fridays and my parents also went to lunch with him on Grandparent's Day at the school!  He has recess right before his lunch and he is always so sweaty!  They eat lunch at 10:20am....crazy.

The kinder kids look so tiny sitting in their chairs in the cafeteria.  They all have assigned seats and sit with people in their class each day.  At 1040 am, one of the teachers always comes on the microphone in the cafeteria and says "silent voice, final choice".  The kids all know they can't eat their dessert until they eat the rest of their food!  Pierson has enjoyed buying a chocolate milk everyday for the past couple of weeks.  I told him as long as he gets green or better on his behavior chart each day he can buy chocolate milk the next day.  Speaking of behavior chart, he has done pretty well.  He did get a yellow a couple of days.  One day for talking to much and the other day for leaning back in his chair.  I hear Mrs. Shelby is one of the more strict teachers, but I think that is exactly what Pierson needs!
